Connection Grant

Overview:

Connection grants are short term and are granted to individuals who wish to explore the deeper aspects of true and lasting values consistent with the Beads on One String mission, and how they may be implemented into daily life.

Examples include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Spiritual Work / Study: Assist individuals who seek to volunteer at a monastery, ashram, church, mosque, temple or place dedicated to spiritual or religious devotion who are doing so consistent with the goals described in the Beads on One String mission statement.
  • Spiritual Pilgrimage: Assist individuals seeking to plan or participate in a Religious or Spiritual pilgrimage to holy sites within the remit of the Beads on One String mission statement.
  • Education: Religious or spiritual education consistent with Beads on One String mission statement. The purpose of the grant is to further inform and enhance the mission of Beads on One String Foundation.
  • Service to humanity through the implementation of deeper spiritual values into practical daily life.

Recipients of the grant will be required to file a report in which they describe their experience of their activity, and if possible to provide any avenues for future follow-up for others. The number of grants and amount gifted may vary yearly on a funds available basis.

Eligibility:

Grants are available to all individuals around the world regardless of sex, age, color, nationality or religious background. While the program does not emphasize any particular form of religious practice or worship, it seeks to provide support to persons motivated by spiritual values. The program awards stipends to persons with a wide range of beliefs, practices, and philosophies. However, preference will be given to those who demonstrate a commitment to the recognition of linkages and connections across varying traditions and world views, who have a well thought out project, and are considering full time dedication to furthering the interests of the Beads on One String mission statement.

Availability:

The number and amount of grants and scholarships will be determined based on a recommendation from the Scholarship Committee and voted effective by the board of directors.

  • All Beads on One String grants and scholarships require the recipient to submit a report upon completion of the project detailing any insights, thoughts, or understandings that came about due to the work. This report can be in a written or audio/visual format. Please describe what kind of report you will submit, if are a recipient of this grant.
